These U.S. Forest Service cabins offer a unique opportunity to experience the great Alaskan outdoors – spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife and sunsets that set the evening sky on fire. We’ll drop you off at the front door, assist in offloading your gear and maybe even leave you with a fishing, hiking or photo tip.
Cabin Facilities: Located far from the beaten path, U.S. Forest Service cabins are located at remote lakes, streams, rivers and on saltwater beaches. Daily rentals range from $25 to $45 and cabin designs vary. Cabins sleep from 4 to as many as 12 people and feature table, benches, bunks, wood- or oil-burning stoves (large rounds of wood are provided at cabins that include a wood-burning stove; bring #1 Diesel oil for oil-burning stoves) and outhouse. At most lake cabins, a small skiff and oars are also available.
With such a wide variety of cabin styles and locations, we encourage you to contact us at Southeast Aviation so we can help you plan your visit and make recommendations on how to best enjoy this uniquely-Alaskan experience.
